I'm still here!

So, It's been a little while since I've posted, but big things have been happening and I've finally had the time to sit down and do a little catch up. Sorry, no photos this time around, but I will have some up soon...

In September I was in a pretty serious car accident and ended up with a broken leg. Right at the knee joint. I was in the hospital for a week - it sucked. The good news is that Graham and the girls were not in the van with me when it happened. The bad news is that my Mom was. She ended up with some severe bruising and swelling and spend the night in a different hospital being watched for her blood pressure. Not exactly the funnest trip we've had together. But I did end up getting a nice new van out of the deal - I like to think positively.
I got off the crutches on Christmas Eve and we took a road trip that night to Tennessee to visit my brother and his family - whom Graham has never met. We were so excited to go...the first night we planned on staying with Grampa Scott and Grandma Brenda. We arrived at their place at 4:00 in the morning on Christmas day. It was windy and cold when we arrived. We planned on leaving after Christmas dinner and carrying on to Tennessee, but one look out the window in the morning told us we were staying put for a while. We ended up being snowed in for 4 days. It turned out to be better than we planned. Although we didn't get down to Tennessee, we got to spend lots of time with Graham's family, and we didn't get too road weary (which would have been no fun at all).
I think that Heavenly Father knows us very well and guides us the way we need to be going. I didn't want to be in a car wreck, but because I was, I learned a lot about service and letting others be in charge. I learned that my husband is a great father and a wonderful husband and can handle much more than I give him credit for. I learned that I can relax and let things go a bit and it's ok. And I learned that the most important things in my life are my children and my husband.
I learned that we can make wonderful, big shiny plans...but if Heavenly Father wants us in North Dakota he'll make sure that we stay there.
Well, we are all back to work and school and I'm walking again. Slowly, but I'm doing it. pretty sad what makes us happy sometimes. I'll keep up with the blogging better in the new year...talk to you soon!
